Victor Sila, a handicap 28 golfer, scored an impressive 43 Stableford points to win the eighth leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour at Nakuru Golf Course on Saturday.
Sila outplayed his closest challenger, Joseph Mwangi (handicap 28), who carded 40 points, in a competition featuring over 250 golfers, the largest turnout at the 18-hole course this year.
“We challenged each other in our four-ball to play well. The first nine was incredible, with a few birdies and bogeys, and we maintained our performance on the second nine. I thank my team for the good challenge and KCB for organizing this incredible tournament,” said Sila during the prize-giving ceremony.
Margaret Mutwasi, playing off handicap 29, emerged as the lady winner with 39 Stableford points.
Eliud Siganga, a seasoned golfer and KCB Bungoma Branch Manager, scored 41 points to clinch the staff winner award.
Gurtej Sahota, a handicap 18 golfer, was the junior winner with 36 points.
Martin Mbugua, playing off handicap 24, won the guest winner award with 40 points.
John Kamais and Mercy Nyanchama took home the longest drive awards in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
