The 2024 NCBA Windsor Classic has attracted a field of 146 top amateur golfers from Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda for a thrilling 54-hole stroke play championship.
The tournament, which boasts a prize pool of Sh500,000, will be held at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club from Friday, March 7, to Sunday, March 9.
The overall winner will take home Sh115,400, making it one of the most sought-after events on the amateur golf calendar.
Defending champion Michael Karanga will return to the course to defend his title.
Among the competitors are six talented lady golfers—Naomi Wafula, Kellie Gachaga, Margaret Njoki, Bianca Ngecu, and Diana Mbuba—who will challenge a field of 140 men in this high-stakes tournament.
In an interview with Golf Score Kenya, Wafula of Vipingo Ridge Golf Club said this will be her first 2025 Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) series.
“I’m excited to compete in my first tournament of the year, the Windsor Classic, this weekend. I’ve been training hard, sharpening my game, and focusing on both physical and mental preparation,” she said.
Her goal is to deliver a strong performance and build momentum for the season ahead.
“Looking forward to the challenge,” she added.

Njoki of Golf Park Golf Club expressed her excitement about being among the top lady golfers competing at Windsor.
“My goal is to play well and secure a top-10 finish. I’m also excited to share this experience with my son, Nicholas, as we compete in the same tournament. Wishing him the best as well,” she said.
With a highly competitive field, players will battle over three days, with the first two rounds determining the top 33 players, along with ties, who will make the cut for Sunday’s final round.
Kenya Golf Union Tournament Director Chris Kinuthia emphasized the significance of the NCBA Windsor Classic as a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, offering players a chance to earn valuable ranking points.
“The competition will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited, the KAGC Local Rules, KAGC Qualifying Event Requirements, and any additional local rules set by the Tournament Committee,” he said.
Kinuthia also expressed gratitude to NCBA Bank for their continued support and thanked Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club for providing their world-class course to host this prestigious event.
