The Kenya Golf Union (KGU) has named ten top amateur golfers to represent the country in the upcoming Victoria Cup.
The event is set to take place from March 20–22 at Kenya’s newest golf course, Mt. Kipipiri Golf Resort in Nyandarua.
The championship-level course, rated at par 72, offers a challenging yet scenic setting for golfers of all skill levels.
The team comprises Captain John Lejirma (Kenya Railway Golf Club), Daniel Kiragu (Muthaiga Golf Club), Elvis Muigua (Kiambu Golf Club), Elly Barno (Nandi Bears Golf Club), Raphael Leming’ani (Golf Park Golf Club), Ebill Omollo (Vet Lab Sports Club) and Josphat Rono (Golf Park Golf Club).

Others are junior golfers Tsevi Soni (Sigona Golf Club), Kevin Anyien (Golf Park Golf Club), and Krish Shah (Vet Lab Sports Club).
Kenya is the defending champion, having won the cup in Uganda last year.
KGU Vice Chairman Chris Kinuthia said the team consists of elite amateurs and top juniors from across the country.
“This is a dynamic group of golfers who have been undergoing intense training over the past month to ensure they are ready to compete at the highest level. They have been training under the leadership of our national team coach,” said Kinuthia.

In addition to the main Victoria Cup competition, a subsidiary event will be held on the morning of Saturday, March 22.
This event will give local golfers a chance to participate in a fun and competitive round before enjoying the main tournament in the afternoon as Kenya and Uganda battle for the cup.
The Victoria Cup was first played in 2016, marking the start of what has now become a key annual golfing event in East Africa.
Named after Lake Victoria—the largest lake in Africa, which borders both Kenya and Uganda—the tournament has grown into one of the most anticipated sporting events in the region.
