Shashwat Harish of Peponi School emerged as the overall individual winner at the 2024 NCBA Lisle Shaw Memorial Inter-Schools Golf Tournament held at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.
Harish carded an impressive 73 points to claim the top prize.
Close behind was Tsevi Soni of Premier Academy, who finished with 75 points.
Lyndon Daker and Mitansh Thacker tied for third place with 76 points each, while Krish Shah and Jelani Kihanya shared fifth place with 78 points.
Hazel Kuria took seventh place with 79 points, while Junaid Manji, Wahome Mutai, and Kanana Muthomi tied for eighth with scores of 80 each.
In the Best Team category, the homeschooling team—comprising Mitansh Thacker, Kanana Muthomi, Junaid Manji, and Ishaan Simani—claimed the top spot with a combined score of 236 points.
Thacker carded 76 points, Muthomi and Manji both scored 80, and Simani added 81 points to the team.
Premier Academy finished as the second-best team with a total of 239 points, represented by Tsevi Soni, Kagame Handa, Tsorav Soni, and Ryan Njuguna.
Tsevi led the team with a personal best of 75 points, while Tsorav and Handa each scored 82, and Njuguna added 85 points.
Reflecting on his performance, Tsevi said he had hoped to capitalize on home advantage, but lost the game with some bogeys around the way.
“It’s a bit bittersweet because this is my home course. I had an advantage but struggled with a bogey and a double bogey on holes 4 and 5, which threw me off on two usually high-scoring holes,” he said.
He added that his team’s second-place finish was a pleasant surprise, especially after losing a few players last year.
“It was unexpected, but I think we performed well,” he said.
Despite Harish’s standout performance, his Peponi School team finished in third place with a total of 243 points.
Harish contributed 73 points, followed by Rohin Shah (83 points), Kahir Ladak (87 points), and Nkini Pasha (90 points).
“We did better than last year. Each team member gave their all, and we’re all happy,” Harish said.
“It’s less about the results and more about the attitude we bring to this tournament, enjoying the game—that’s what matters,” he added.
Rosslyn Academy secured fourth place, and Braeburn Garden Estate finished fifth.
