Nduku Wamakau Wins Post-Connected Africa 2024 Golf Tournament at Muthaiga

Nduku Wamakau of Muthaiga Golf Club was crowned the winner of the Post-Connected Africa Summit 2024 Golf Tournament, held at the par-71 Muthaiga Golf Course on Saturday.

Playing off a handicap of 33, Wamakau posted an impressive 44 points to secure the top spot.

Close behind was handicap 18 player Silas Gitari, who scored 43 points, while Michael Njuguna, playing off handicap 19, claimed third place with 42 points.

The event drew a record 300 golfers, a turnout hailed as the highest of the year by Muthaiga Golf Club’s Vice Captain, Erick Malonza.

In the ladies’ category, handicap 28 golfer Rita Njeru took the top honour with 39 points, while Ken Njihia, also playing off handicap 28, won the men’s title with 41 points.

The Guest Winner Award went to Joel Mageto (handicap 25) from the Postal Corporation of Kenya.

The Connected Africa Summit Golf Tournament, an annual event organized by the ICT Authority of Kenya, brings together professionals from the ICT sector.

Speaking at the event, ICT Authority CEO Stanley Kamanguya expressed gratitude for the support from sponsors and partners, which helped make the summit a continental success.

“We successfully scaled the summit to a continental level with delegates from across Africa and beyond. Kenya is now well-positioned to lead digital transformation efforts on the continent,” Kamanguya said.

Sponsors of the tournament included Telkom Kenya, Danco and Pavicon Group, and NCBA Bank.

Plans are already underway for the 2025 tournament.
