Mother and Son Shine at Predator Energy Drink Golf Tournament

Janet Wasike and her son, Fidel Wasike, dominated the inaugural Predator Energy Drink Golf Tournament at Nyali Golf and Country Club on Saturday.

Janet, playing off handicap 27, secured the overall winner’s title with an impressive 45 Stableford points.

“I prayed in the morning, and when I started, everything seemed to be working in my favour. You should now expect to see my name very often among the winners.  My game is on point now, and I’m back,” she said.

Her 16-year-old son, Fidel, won multiple accolades, including Best Junior and Longest Drive Men.

Fidel, handicap 11, won the Best Junior category with 38 points.

“My son has also been very consistent in the game. Everything we have invested, especially in the Junior Golf Foundation, is working out. Today, the Wasike family is shining,” she added.

The event attracted 168 golfers.

Andrew Wahome, with a handicap of 2, emerged as the winner in the Best Gross Scores category, shooting a solid 74 gross.

“What you should now expect from me is more international wins. I have been training so much for them, and as I head to South Africa, my game is looking very good and I hope to come back with some wins. I also want to come back and win some KGU events, because I have not been home for a while,” said Wahome.

Evans Murumb, a handicap of 26, secured the top spot in the Men’s Category with 42 points, winning on countback.

Nyali Golf Club Captain Dinesh Sasan, handicap 14, followed closely as the runner-up with 42 points.

Raajveer Dhanjal took the third place with 41 points, also playing off a handicap of 14.

In the Women’s Category, Joyce Kamau triumphed (handicap of 25) triumphed with 42 points.

Divinah Ongaki was the runner-up with 39 points, winning on countback.

Johnson Wamunyua was named the Best Senior, scoring 40 points with a handicap of 20.

Gladys Mueni demonstrated her driving prowess and won the Longest Drive Lady.

Omar Lewa displayed precision, achieving a distance of 3.4 meters, in the Nearest to the Pin.

Justine Ongere from the invited coastal clubs won with 38 points.

Dr Dinesh Soni dominated the High Handicappers Men category (handicap 28+) with an outstanding 46 points.

Susan Airo won the High Handicappers Lady category (handicap 36+) with a remarkable 45 points.
