The 113-year-old Mombasa Golf Club will host the prestigious Chairman’s Prize Golf Tournament this Saturday, March 2, 2024.

The event is set to draw over 140 golfers, including eight seasoned professionals, to the challenging Par 71 Sea-Link Course.

The focal point of this high-stakes 18-hole Pro-Am tournament is a tantalizing opportunity for players to secure a ‘Hole in One’ and speed away in a luxurious, brand-new Audi model car, generously sponsored by Kushi Motors Kenya.

In an interview with Golf Score Kenya, Mombasa Golf Club Chairman Paul Munyao said they are looking forward to an excellent event.

“This coming Saturday, we have a massive golfing event, and we are welcoming all of you to come and play. Remember, you just might win a beautiful car in the hole-in-one prize category. Come and try your luck,” said Munyao.

Munyao’s tenure as the chairman of the Mombasa Golf Club is highlighted by notable enhancements in the golfing experience for members, coupled with the acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery for course maintenance.

The Pro-Am tournament promises a star-studded lineup of professionals, including Bhavi Shah, who will be among the first to tee off at 6:30 am on Saturday.

Pro golfer Promise Silla will be on the second flight at 6:38 am before John Kisia leads other golfers on the third flight at 6:46 am.

Other pro golfers in the tourney are; Matthew Wahome, Samson Mapinga, Samuel Kahindi, John Davis, and G. Felix.

The evening celebrations will feature live performances by Steve Rogers and the Highway Band, injecting a dose of entertainment into the prize-giving ceremony.

The dress code encourages a floral theme on the course and vintage attire in the evening, adding a touch of elegance to the proceedings.

This thrilling golf spectacle follows a triumphant tournament held two weeks ago for the Club’s Outgoing captain, James Gitonga Wachira.

Sponsors of the event include Pauland, Comply, Kushi Motors, Yul’s, MultiChoice, Kenya National Police DT Sacco, Deensbrook School, Nulook, Mombasa Inter-continental Resort, and many others.
