
Lennox Mutua emerged as the overall winner of the latest leg of the 2025 NCBA Golf Series at Kiambu Golf Club over the weekend.
Playing off handicap 21, he posted an impressive net score of 67, securing both the Overall Winner title and Division C victory in a field of 140 golfers.
In Division A, Caesar Mugo (HCP 9) claimed top honors with a net score of 72.
Among the ladies, Carol Maina (HCP 31) led with a net 73, finishing ahead of runner-up Charity Njoroge (HCP 13), who carded 75.
Division B was hotly contested. Ken Kimathi (HCP 15) posted a net 69 to win and also took the overall Men’s Winner title, and PK Kaburu followed closely with a net 72 on countback.
A five-way tie for third saw Brian Otieno, Solomon Mugwe, Caesar Mugo, Peter Nganga, and Sammy Muriu all finish on net 72.
In the Staff category, Tirus Mwithiga (HCP 13) claimed victory with a net 71.
Robert Nganga (HCP 19) was the best Guest player with a net 69.
William Muguima carded 33 to win the First Nine prize, while Karanja Mbugua edged GK Muiruri on countback to take the Second Nine prize with net 34.
The event, the fourth leg of this year’s series, attracted top golfers vying for spots in the Grand Finale.
A major highlight was the hole-in-one prize—a JCB 3DX Backhoe loader, sponsored by JCB Ganatra, available at the par-3 eighth hole.
Speaking at the event, NCBA Group MD John Gachora praised the series’ impact.
“We are four legs into the 2025 NCBA Golf Series, and the journey has been fantastic. Each event strengthens our connection with customers and communities. We are committed to supporting every club in Kenya,” he said.
Gachora added, “This year, we have introduced an exciting hole-in-one prize through our partnership with JCB Ganatra. It reflects NCBA’s mission to empower individuals and businesses. Golfers can look forward to an even greater experience.”
Winners from the Kiambu leg have now secured their spots in the Grand Finale later this year. They join other top performers from across the country in the race for the series’ ultimate honors.
He also highlighted other NCBA-sponsored event which were taking part over the weekend, including the Muthaiga Open, part of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KACG) series, and a juniors’ tournament at Karen.
“We see golf as the future of sport in Kenya. There are great opportunities in golf tourism, and we hope our continued support will benefit the country,” he said.
The NCBA Golf Series now moves to Nairobi for its fifth leg at Kenya Railway Golf Club.
