
Kenya team captain John Lejirma delivered a spectacular performance to claim the 2025 NCBA Windsor Classic title on Sunday at Windsor Golf and Country Club.
Lejirma, who began the tournament in 13th place after an opening round of 75, delivered a stellar 67 in the second round to surge to the top of the leaderboard.
He closed with a composed 71 on Sunday, securing a total score of 213 (-3) to claim the title.
“This victory is a reminder that hard work pays off, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. I feel relaxed and ready for the season,” Lejirma told Golf Score Kenya.
Lejirma’s victory at Windsor marked another milestone in his rising career, demonstrating his resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
With this triumph, he now shifts his focus to the next event in the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) series, where he aims to maintain his fine form, he said.
Elvis Muigua of Kiambu Golf Club finished second with a total score of 215 (-1) after rounds of 73, 70, and 72.
Jay Sandhu of Muthaiga Golf Club secured third place at 219 (+3) with rounds of 71, 74, and 74.
Jean D’Amour Hitayezu of Kigali Golf Resort & Villas took fourth place at 222 (+6) after carding 74, 70, and 78.
Defending champion Michael Karanga of Kiambu Golf Club tied for fifth place with clubmate Steve Kiaro, both finishing at 225 (+9).
Karanga posted rounds of 77, 71, and 77, while Kiaro scored 70, 77, and 78.
Daniel Kiragu of Muthaiga Golf Club and Ugandans Joseph Cwinyaai (Uganda Golf Club) and Joseph Kasozi (Kinyara Golf Club) finished in a tie for seventh place at 226 (+10).
Kiragu carded 78, 72, and 76, Cwinyaai shot 71, 76, and 79, while Kasozi recorded 69, 77, and 80.
Rounding out the top ten was Naomi Wafula of Vipingo Ridge Golf Club, who finished at 227 (+11) after rounds of 76, 77, and 74.
