For the second consecutive week, Karen Country Club’s Muthoni Kioi continued her exceptional performance in the ongoing NCBA Junior Golf Foundation US Kids Local Tour.
On Sunday, October 13, at the Sigona Golf Club leg, Kioi emerged victorious after defeating Siqian Yu in a playoff in the Girls’ 11-12 years category.
Both players had carded a score of seven-over-par 79, leading to the playoff, where Kioi claimed the win.
Ashley Muyela secured third place with a score of 12-over-par 84, while Ashley Gachora followed closely in fourth with 13-over-par 85.
Chloe Chiuri completed the top five, finishing with a score of 16-over-par 88.
This victory follows Kioi’s previous win on October 6, where she topped the Girls’ 11-12 years category at the NCBA JGF US Kids Local Tour at Windsor Golf Club with a score of nine-over-par 81.
In the Boys’ 13-14 years category at Sigona, the competition was equally fierce.
Mwathi Gicheru and Peter Gathogo both shot five-over-par 77, leading to a playoff.
Gicheru ultimately triumphed, securing bragging rights for this leg.
Justin Ngeera finished third, just one stroke behind the leaders, with a score of six-over-par 78.
Yuvraj Rajput took fourth with an eight-over-par 80, while George Ikirima, Wahome Mutahi, and Amar Shah tied for fifth, each shooting 10-over-par 82.
In the Girls’ 13-14 years category, Amelia Sheikh emerged as the winner with a score of eight-over-par 80, four strokes ahead of second-placed Yolanda Yu, who scored 12-over-par 84.
Amani Muriithi claimed third place, finishing two strokes behind Yu, while Armelle Amani, Royalle Karanja, and Lael Mwangale tied for fourth place.
In the nine-hole competition for boys, Suraya Bongu delivered an impressive performance, finishing with a score of one-over-par 37.
He was six strokes ahead of second-placed Mikhail Nurani, who shot seven-over-par 43, while Nathan Gatonga rounded off the top three with a score of nine-over-par 45.
