Captain Joy Njagi emerged as the overall winner of the Commander’s Cup held on Saturday at the Kenya Airforce Golf Club in Eastleigh.
The tournament, sponsored by KCB Bank, attracted 144 golfers.
Playing off a handicap of 33, Captain Njagi delivered an impressive 44 Stableford points to secure the overall title in this year’s competition.
In Division A, Dr. E. Arigo (handicap 16) claimed the top spot with 35 points, while Sergeant Faith Muteti (handicap 15) finished as runner-up on countback, also with 35 points.
Division B saw Dr. D. Mang’oka (handicap 19) take the win with a strong 40 points.
Mugambi Kinuthia and Valine Akoth won the longest drive titles in the men’s and ladies’ categories, respectively, while Steve Mutungi claimed the nearest-to-the-pin award for his precision.
Brigadier Oscar Muleyi, playing off handicap 30, took the subsidiary category with 39 Stableford points.
Youngster Anita Nyaguto was crowned Junior Winner, and Martin Kiambi was named Sponsor Winner.
Speaking at the event, KCB Bank Kenya’s Director of Finance, James Mugo, praised the longstanding partnership between KCB and the Kenya Defence Forces, emphasizing the importance of strengthening their relationship for shared value and continued prosperity.
