Sigona Golf Club’s junior team secured a remarkable victory on Tuesday, claiming the coveted Tannahill Shield Junior Title by outplaying Vet Lab Sports Club at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club.
The eight-member junior squad from Sigona showcased exceptional skill, tallying an impressive 252 points on the opening day.
They maintained their stellar performance on Tuesday, matching their initial score, culminating in a commanding total of 504 points to seize the junior title in the 99th edition of the Tannahill Shield tournament.
Sigona’s triumphant team comprised Minash Thacker, Yuvraj Rajput, Junaid Manji, Shan Samani, Nikhil Kimatrai, Tsorav Soni, Tsevi Soni, and Aarush Vara.
Vet Lab Sports Club’s lineup that featured Parv Kavia, Krish Beiju, Kushaghra Sharma, Adrian Mwangi, Wahome Mutahi, Kareem Njenga, Manav Shah, and Peter Gathogo, amassed 264 points in the first round and 252 in the second, totaling 516 points for the second position.
Meanwhile, the host team from the Royal Nairobi Golf Club, represented by Mwathi Gicheru, Andy Gathere, Ryan Mutinda, Kimani Gicheru, Steve Kinisu, Shuhan Peng, Bradley Malit, and Shawn Malesi, secured the third position overall.
They garnered 268 points in the initial round and 264 points on Tuesday, summing up to 532 points.
Muthaiga, Karen, and Mombasa teams claimed the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions, respectively.
The Muthaiga juniors posted scores of 278 and 259, totaling 537 points, while Karen’s team scored 265 and 279, accumulating 544 points, and Mombasa concluded with a total of 573 points, scoring 290 on the first day and 283 on the second.
