The Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club will on Sunday play host to the fourth leg of the NCBA Nairobi Fall Local Tour junior tournament.
Young golfers, aged 5 to 18, will gather to showcase their talent and compete for Priority Status in the dynamic junior golf circuit.
Some 180 young golfers will compete in 14 categories.
Building upon the success of past tournaments in the local tour, where Kenyan junior golfers have consistently impressed, this event underscores the growing popularity and competitiveness of junior golf in Kenya.
Regina Gachora, President of the Junior Golf Foundation – Kenya, expressed gratitude to NCBA for their crucial support as the title sponsor of the NCBA Nairobi Fall Local Tour.
She emphasized the bank’s role in nurturing youth development in sports.
“NCBA has been instrumental in supporting Junior Golf Foundation, serving as the title sponsor for the NCBA Nairobi Fall Local Tour and continuing to champion youth development in sports,” said Gachora.
Beyond the quest for Priority Status points, which open doors to regional and global competitions, this tour offers young golfers invaluable opportunities to refine their abilities and grow as athletes.
The competition is fierce in various categories, with James Tino Macakiage defending his lead in the Boys 7 Category against a strong challenge from Surya Bongu.
Meanwhile, Ivan Kimutai maintains a firm grip on the Boys 8 category, and Mikhael Ladak and Ishaan Patel are engaged in a tight battle in the Boys 10 Category.
In the girls’ divisions, Avanti Bongu leads comfortably in the Girls 8 & Under Category, while the Girls 9-10 Category sees intense competition among Audrey Gachora, Zianna Khoda, and Aria Dodhia.
As for the older age groups, expect thrilling action among the 11-18-year-olds, where Kanana Muthomi, Yuvraj Rajput, and Njeri Waweru lead their respective categories with skill and determination.
