Diamond Leisure Golf Club lit up the greens at Nyali Golf and Country Club with a remarkable show of skill and resilience to clinch the 2025 Ladies Coast Inter-Clubs Matchplay title.
Facing tough competition from traditional coastal golf powerhouses, Diamond Ladies reclaimed the crown they last held in 2023, edging out defending champions Mombasa Golf Club by the slimmest of margins—just 0.6 points—to top the leaderboard with 39 points.
Mombasa Golf Club settled for second place with 38.4 points, while hosts Nyali Golf and Country Club finished third with 37.8 points.
Malindi Golf Club came in fourth on 33 points, and Vipingo Ridge Golf Club rounded out the standings with 32 points.
The tournament, a highlight on the Coast golfing calendar, brought together the region’s top lady golfers in a spirited competition.

Diamond Leisure Lady Captain Carol Mokaya attributed the victory to thorough preparation and unwavering team spirit.
“We knew coming into this tournament that Nyali and Mombasa had strong teams. But teamwork and a never-say-die attitude carried us through. The ladies were determined to bring the title back,” said Mokaya.
In an inspiring twist to the story, Diamond’s squad featured several senior players, some of whom had to wake up before dawn to make the long journey to Nyali.
“Most of our players are senior golfers. They woke up very early and traveled several kilometers to the venue—but they arrived fully focused and ready for battle,” she added.
Last year’s event, held at Malindi Golf Club, saw Mombasa Golf Club break Diamond’s 2023 hold on the title.
This year, Diamond’s comeback victory marks a sweet return to the summit of coastal ladies’ golf.
