Golf fans in Kenya are in for a treat this weekend, with a trio of exciting events lined up across the country.
The Golf Park golf course will this Friday, April 25th, host the seventh leg of the ongoing 2025 NCBA Golf Series.
The tournament, which will also double as the club’s Monthly Mug event for April, is set to attract at least 100 golfers to Kenya’s only Pay-and-Play golf facility.
Competitors will be battling for coveted slots at the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale.
They will join a growing list of qualifiers from earlier legs held at VetLab Sports Club, Nandi Bears Club, Malindi Golf Club, Kenya Railway Golf Club, Kiambu Golf Club, and most recently, Nakuru Golf Club.
At the Nakuru event, Paul Muhia claimed the overall gross title while Esther Karuga topped the ladies’ gross category.
They were among six qualifiers, including winners from Divisions 2 and 3, and the top junior.
Trans Nzoia Championship Returns to Kitale

All roads will also lead to Kitale Golf Club for the much-anticipated NCBA Trans Nzoia Championship, scheduled for April 25th–27th.
A flagship event on the 2025 Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) calendar, the tournament continues to elevate Kenya’s profile on the international amateur golf stage.
A total of 58 players have confirmed their participation, among them top female golfers Loise Ngina (Kitale Golf Club) and Naomi Wafula (Vipingo Golf Ridge), as well as leading amateurs Sammy Mulama, Isaack Makokha, Josephat Rono, and John Kamais.
Notably, defending champion John Lejirma will not feature, leaving the door open for a new titleholder.
The three-day event will see a cut after two rounds, with the top 33 players (plus ties) advancing to Sunday’s final round.
Up for grabs is a prize purse of KSh 174,000.
The tournament is also part of the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), offering valuable ranking points.
Junior Stars Set for Mombasa

Meanwhile, young golfers will take center stage at the 3rd NCBA Coast Junior Open, set for April 25th–27th at Mombasa Golf Club.
The event has attracted over 100 junior players, with handicap limits of 28.0 for boys and 36.0 for girls.
As part of NCBA’s commitment to nurturing young talent, the tournament aims to provide a strong foundation for the next generation of Kenyan golfers.
NCBA Champions Holistic Growth of the Game
Speaking ahead of the action-packed weekend, NCBA Group Managing Director, John Gachora, emphasized the bank’s dedication to golf development.
“We are proud to support golf at every level—from elite amateur tournaments like the Trans Nzoia Championship to Monthly Mug events across clubs. It’s about creating opportunities for talent to grow and making the game more accessible and competitive across the country,” he said.
Kenya Golf Union Tournament Director, Chris Kinuthia, echoed Gachora’s sentiments while outlining tournament protocols.
“The Trans Nzoia Championship will adhere to the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited, as well as KAGC and local tournament rules. NCBA’s continued sponsorship has transformed the game, raising the competitive bar and offering young golfers invaluable experience on the local and international stage,” he said.
