Nandi Bears Club will host the second event of the 2025 NCBA Golf Series this weekend, on February 1.

Last week, the series teed off with its first event at VetLab Sports Club.

The Nandi Bears Club event is expected to attract top golfers from the Rift Valley and Western regions, including players from Kakamega, Kericho, and Eldoret clubs.

Golfers will compete on the challenging yet scenic 9-hole course, aiming not only for victory but also for an early qualification to this year’s Grand Finale.

Four golfers will secure slots in the finale: the overall winner, the men’s category winner, the ladies’ category winner, and the junior category winner.

NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora expressed excitement about the series making a stop at Nandi Bears Club, one of Kenya’s oldest golf clubs with a rich history.

“It is very encouraging that golfers get to experience such a challenging course early in the series, and we hope Saturday will be a day of superb golfing and networking,” said Gachora ahead of the event.

He also highlighted NCBA’s expanded involvement in golf this year.

The 2025 series will feature 159 events across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda—an increase from the 130 events held in 2024.

The series aims to provide golfers of all levels with a platform to showcase their skills and passion for the sport.

“We hope the golfers in Nandi get to experience that, whether they are professionals, amateurs, or juniors,” Gachora added.

Beyond the 2025 NCBA Golf Series, NCBA has renewed key partnerships with the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) and the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) while also forging a new partnership with the Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) for the first time.

These collaborations are aimed at advancing golf at all levels, from junior players to seasoned professionals.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) Chairman’s Prize is set to tee off this Friday, January 31, and conclude on Saturday, February 1, at Muthaiga Golf Club.

The two-day tournament, marking the end of Jane Nzibo’s tenure as KLGU Chairperson, has attracted over 200 lady golfers from various clubs across the country.

They will compete for honors in multiple prize categories.
