Mercy Nyanchama of Njoro Country Club has firmly established herself as a formidable force in the Ladies Coast Open series, securing three victories across the five-day tournament.
The Ladies Coast Open series, spanning five days, challenged competitors across the coast region’s five golf courses, including Malindi Golf Club, Vipingo Golf Club, Diamonds Leisure Beach and Golf Resort in Diani, Mombasa Golf Club, and Nyali Golf and Country Club.
Nyanchama kicked off her winning streak on Monday at Malindi Golf Club, where she triumphed with an impressive score of 78 gross, setting the tone for what would become a remarkable run.
However, she faced tough competition at the Vipingo Leg on Tuesday, where she finished fourth.
The home player, Naomi Wafula, took the top spot with a score of 73 gross, followed by Tanzanian golfer Neema Olomi with 78 gross, and Esther Chumo with 79 gross.
On Thursday, at Diamonds Leisure Beach and Golf Resort, Olomi once again emerged victorious, winning the title with a score of 78 gross on countback, edging out Nyanchama, who also finished with a score of 78 gross.
Undeterred, Nyanchama bounced back on Friday, claiming victory at the historical Mombasa Golf Club with an impressive score of 75 gross, securing the Mombasa Leg of the Ladies Coast Open series.
Her crowning achievement came on Saturday at Nyali Golf and Country Club, where she once again demonstrated her dominance by winning the Nyali Leg with a stunning score of 73 gross.
This third win in the series underscores Nyanchama’s remarkable consistency and skill across diverse and challenging courses.
Despite facing fierce competition from over 150 lady golfers from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, Nyanchama’s poise and precision allowed her to rise above, earning her the top spot in this celebrated tournament.
