Mokua Shines at Britam’s 7th Golf Circuit

Britam Group Managing Director Tom Gitogo, Nyali Golf Club vice captain Allan Molu, winner of Britam seventh golf circuit George Mokua and Nyali lady captain Mary Mariga.

George Mokua, former chairman of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK), beat 209 golfers to win the overall title at the seventh Britam Golf Circuit held at Nyali Golf and Country Club on Saturday.

Playing off a handicap of 24, Mokua secured the top honor with an impressive score of 43 points, winning on countback.

“I usually play in the afternoon, but today I played in the morning—maybe that’s why I won. It took a lot of practice, precise swings, and putting to become the hero of the day,” Mokua said.

Rose Naliaka excelled in multiple categories, winning the Best Gross Score with a 79 and the Ladies’ category with 41 points.

Mary Kinaro was the runner-up in the Ladies’ category with 39 points.

In the Men’s category, John Middleton topped the field with 43 points, while Raju Patel and Anand Patel, both with 41 points, finished as runner-up and third on countback, respectively.

Johnson Wamunyua, with a handicap of 18, was named Best Senior with 36 points.

Nasihah Abdalla won the Junior category with 41 points.

Edward Kuria secured the Staff Winner title with 36 points on countback, and Harrison Kariuki claimed the Guest Winner title with 34 points.

John Mugo triumphed in the Invited Coastal Clubs category with 38 points.

In the High Handicappers categories, Naveed Arif led with 44 points for men with handicaps of 28 and above, while Diana Nthiwa won for ladies with 39 points.
